Duties : Evaluates complex user requests, projects, and clarifies objectives and functional requirements for new or modified computer programs. Improves/sustains embedded system software using specialized domain knowledge and developed business expertise. Responsible for mentoring the development team, designing, and overseeing coding standards and code reviews while interfacing closely with key stakeholders. Enhance and maintain core applications of Status Utility to facilitate customer needs and improve customer experience. Play active role in the future state development of the application based on the event-driven Architecture. Work with external teams as a subject matter expert and technical lead for the Status Utility platform in integration efforts. Work closely with the support and the DevOps teams to improve the process of deployment and enhance monitoring of the application. Research and evaluate new features with the new versions of the language, technology we are using by doing Proof of concepts to improve the application. Compose and deliver technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various level of technical and non-technical management. Partner, influence and collaborate with application architects, development, testing organizations, and business teams. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Salary: $141,800 to $214,700 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field and 6 years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Position requires 6 years of progressive, post-Bachelor’s related experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Backend development in OOPusing .Net and C#, and designing and implementing of REST based web service API(s); Two or more UI technologies: Angular or React, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, AJAX and jQuery; Messaging queue technology (RabbitMQ or MSMQ); Cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or PCF); NoSQL/Document database (Cosmos DB or Mongo DB); Developing CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo or Harness; Production support and monitoring using Splunk logs or App D; Building enterprise scale web solutions based upon n-tier architecture using object-oriented design models, Microservice, and design patterns.
