Citigroup Commodities Control Execution (VP) in Belfast, United Kingdom

Commodities Control Execution team seats within the wider Commodities Business Execution, Control and Data Team. The Control Execution Team primarily focuses on executing Business Managed Controls and ensuring adequate and timely control governance.

The role is seeking an ambitious, experienced and enthusiastic self-starter with a keen interest in the Commodities business to join the Controls Execution team based in Belfast.

The successful candidate will be required to assist the team in identifying and assessing the risks the Business faces and ensuring that adequate controls are in place to mitigate them. They will require an ability to communicate the nature and the performance of Controls which the team are responsible for, often to Senior forums, will be necessary. An ability to work effectively across regions will be required.

The role will require liaison with global teams, including Sales, Trading, Compliance, Operations and Technology to gather required information for the execution of the controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate governance is in place for existing controls and be able to recommend and implement improved governance

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of detailed and accurate control procedure documentation

  • Lead Operational Risk Event write ups and ensure the Corrective actions are robust enough to prevent reoccurrence of issues

  • Assist with gathering evidence for internal audit requests as needed as well as being able to conduct IA walkthroughs of key controls

  • Close collaboration with the Global Business Execution team and cross-functional teams including Sales, Trading, Product Control, Operations, Technology and Compliance as required to meet business needs and goals

  • Assist with compiling Management presentation slides

Experience/Skills:

  • Financial services experience required

  • Experience of communicating to senior audiences and forums

  • Analytical and detail-orientated combined with ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environment

  • Proven experience in independently handling appropriate escalation

  • Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative, and adaptive

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, ability to navigate a complex organization

  • Ability to conduct research/analysis and organize findings including trends

  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and ongoing tasks

Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial markets business or business support

  • Experience with Commodities preferred ( other Markets Products will also be an advantage)

  • Demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Office product suite; basic macro coding experience and proficiency in Microsoft Access and PowerPoint preferred

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred
