About the role

Siemens is seeking a Development Engineer in the field of computational chemistry and multiscale modeling.

You will be part of the development team of Simcenter Culgi, where you will be responsible for the implementation of new features in the software.

You will also be actively involved in the improvement of the software architecture. You will be part of an ambitious, multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for somebody who will share our ambition and joy to accelerate the development and growth of the Simcenter Culgi product.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and implement C++ code for Simcenter Culgi

• Review designs and code of other developers in the team.

• Develop test plans. Coordinate and execute QA testing.

• Identify tools and processes to improve and facilitate the work of the development team.

• Measure and improve CPU performance of the code.

• Communicate status of projects.

Your qualifications

You are an enthusiastic team player with a computational and/or IT background preferably with a connection to biology, chemistry or physics.

You have excellent organizational skills and experience in software programming in terms of design and implementation. We are looking for a

self-supportive multi-tasker who thrives on getting things done and picks up tasks proactively.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• A Master or Ph.D. degree in computer science, preferably with a connection to biology, chemistry, life science or physics.

• Proven experience in C++.

• Excellent communication and social skills.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.

• Problem solving and reasoning skills.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Commercial or professional industrial experience is a plus.

• Having experience in programming of Qt is a plus.

• Having experience in multiscale modeling and/or computational chemistry is a plus

• Experience in managing software architectures

• Multi-threaded and multi-process programming
