Program Coordinator – Bariatrics and Quality Improvement - Full Time - Days

We’re looking for qualified RN’s to join our Texas Health family. Is that you?

Work location : Texas Health Frisco, 12400 N Dallas Parkway Frisco, TX 75033

Work hours : Full Time (Days) Monday – Friday (40 hrs./wk.) 8am – 5pm

Department highlights :

· Interacts with all adult inpatient units and focuses on surgical inpatient units.

What You Need:

Education

Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Dietetics/Food and Nutrition or other clinical discipline Req

Experience

3 Years clinical nursing experience which includes at least 1-year bariatric experience Req

3 Years bariatric experience Pref.

Licenses and Certifications

Other Clinical licensure commensurate with area of expertise

Upon Hire Req And

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req.

Skills

Working knowledge of the care and management of the bariatric patients.

What You Will Do:

· Plans, coordinates, schedules, and implements care of the bariatric patient through all phases of obesity treatment including workup, surgery, recovery, and readmission.

· Provides educational information for staff and acts as a resource to staff regarding the bariatric patient, bariatric surgical procedures, and bariatric equipment.

· Collaborates with department director to maintain compliance with regulatory/accreditation requirements.

· Collaborates with the department director and multidisciplinary team to incorporate American Society of Metabolic Bariatric Surgery's (ASMBS) guidelines for a Bariatric Center of Excellence.

· Remains knowledgeable of policies, procedure and changing information for compliance with hospital/regulatory agencies.

· Participates in continuous quality improvement process in the area of bariatric patient care.

· Appraises research data in the bariatric field and implements findings in patient care decisions.

· Assists staff nurses to implement research findings.

· Attend rounds in ICU and MS.

· Serve at the bedside for training, education, and real-time follow-up.

· Involved with sims, skills fairs, and mocks as well as community involvement.
