Outside Sales Representative 

Job Overview:

The primary function of the Sales Representative is to increase volume and gross margin by maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and adding new customers. This position is an outside sales position, meaning the Sales Representative’s primary duty is making sales and he or she works from home, on the road, or at various Corrigan locations visiting customers and prospects. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Sales Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive to exceed annual sales and gross profit objectives.

  • Independently develop coordinated and efficient call schedule; identify potential customers and clients based on business directories, leads, and referrals; maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects.

  • Attend and participate in sales, product, and training meetings.

  • Develop long-lasting relationships with customers.

  • Implement company policies and initiatives.

  • Work with supplier representatives.

  • Provide technical information and solutions to customers.

  • Monitor, secure and document competitive information

  • Submit all required reports and sales information in a timely manner.

  • Assist with credit collections

  • Communicate customer and prospect product and service pain points to appropriate departments.

  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.

  • Work with all company personnel in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.

  • Support all company business regardless of account ownership or sales responsibility.

  • Regularly drive, stand or sit for several hours in a row.

  • Follow instructions and company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.

  • Participate in CRM training, currently salesforce, and utilize it regularly to record all meaningful interactions with customers and prospects, including but not limited to logging calls, inputting contacts, and creating cases.

  • Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.

  • Able to handle high stress situations

  • Good interpersonal skills. Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers and co-workers at all times.

  • Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.

  • Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

    Qualifications/Experience/Education:

  • 2-3 years of position related experience required. 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Maintain a valid driver's license at all times. 

  • Able to pass pre-employment 7-year background check

Skills:

  • Effective time management to meet call schedule goals and sales goals while working from home or on the road. 

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, management, associates and vendors. 

  • Clear communication, both oral and written. 

  • Excellent customer service. 

  • Highly motivated. 

  • Negotiation skills and thorough product and service knowledge.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
