About the Role:
The Corporate Security Director will, develop, implement and enable security objectives through a comprehensive and consistent enterprise wide program, both technical and physical, focused on protecting our people, premises, and assets.
This role requires a proactive individual with significant attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to partner strategically across the enterprise while managing deliverables and meeting KPIs.
Essential Job Functions:
Leadership - Build cross-functional relationships and establish credibility, trust, and rapport across the organization while fostering THS values.
Liaise with employees at all levels of the company with a focus on customer service
Identify and adapt to changing priorities and deliver positive outcomes with minimal supervision
Provide leadership during periods of change, emergent situations, and when facts and circumstances are ambiguous
Regulatory - Identify non-compliance with the company’s policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these and escalating issues, as appropriate
Develop, implement, and verify compliance with security programs across the security spectrum including: security guard services, physical security design standards, monitoring systems, and risk
Prepare security risk assessment and mitigation plans
Assist in planning event security as well as executive leadership protection details, as needed
Implement an internal audit system for both emergency preparedness and security programs
Monitor and communicate new regulations, industry best practices, industry trends and technology, products and services
Analyze security trends, emerging threats, and industry developments, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary adjustments to the security program
Food Defense Plan / Prevention - Follow the organization's Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of employees, vendors, contractors, and customers.
Respond to emergency situations on a 24/7 basis, coordinate with local law enforcement/fire department and site leadership, as necessary.
Foster a culture of safety and security awareness through effective communication, training programs, and regular engagement with employees at all levels
Monitor InfraGard, along with other databases/platforms such as Homeland Security
Support THS Food adulterations prevention efforts at all sites
Support food defense protocols as identified by site leadership or corporate food safety and quality team
Physical Security – Assess and instruct site leadership in safe working methods; identify risky behaviors, create remediation plan, and escalate serious issues, as appropriate.
Identify potential gaps in physical security, continually evaluate current systems, and make recommendations for improvement
Partner with the internal real estate and external property management on safety and security related aspects of construction projects and operationalize/implement identified plans
Directly or indirectly manage contract security staff members across diverse types of security assignments
Assist in opening and closing control facilities regarding all security efforts tied to Merger & Acquisition activities
Provide security support for labor and employee relations strategy
Conduct drills and tabletop exercises to ensure preparedness and swift response in emergency situations, including threats and verbal abuse, physical assault, and active shooter
Build pro-active, meaningful relationships with local law enforcement across THS enterprise
About You:
You’ll fit right in if you have:
Experience executing site surveys and conducting risk assessments to identify gaps and developing recommendations to mitigate risk
The ability to travel 65% to THS plants across US/Canada
A Bachelor's Degree in Loss Prevention, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field required or equivalent Military experience
5+ years of multi-site security management, asset protection, and loss prevention experience
Food and beverage experience preferred
5+ years of experience with integrated physical security systems
Successfully managed physical security projects related to new construction, renovations, and/or decommissioning
Loss Prevention, Critical Incident Management, Active Shooter certifications preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Evidence of effective interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
Continuous improvement mindset
Demonstrated ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions and make judgment-based decisions
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage projects to completion
Experience collaborating with Department Homeland Security, CFATS, CPAT, Canadian Border Services and Food Defense and Agricultural Security
Strategic planning / program management in global security domain
