Equitable is seeking a Senior Vice President to join our Orlando, Central Florida Branch. This is a leadership position reporting in to the Branch Manager. In partnership with the branch’s Executive Vice President, this position is responsible for increasing the branch’s recruiting, training, developing and retaining high performing Sales Associates and District Managers in the Orlando, FL office, through strong effective management leadership.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing a business plan consistent with supporting the Branch and Complex’s overall strategy, including recruitment and hiring, associate and personal production, mentoring and development, and compliance supervision.

The SVP will be required to live in the geographic proximity to the branch. This is not a remote position and requires the person to work onsite in the office for a minimum of 4 days per week.

Key Job Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Recruiting and Hiring – Develop and manage district level recruiting plans to attain goals for hiring “A” class associates.

  • Training and Development – Develop and manage the activities and development of “A” class, DSF class and ESF associates. Devise individual sales goals and targets with “A” class associates. Develop a plan to increase profitability by retaining DSF associates. Conduct joint appointments with associates in the branch.

  • Leadership Development – Develop and manage the activities and development of current district managers assigned. Identify and promote future leaders to the team.

Supervision:

  • Responsible for the supervision of the Financial Professionals in accordance with FINRA, SEC, state and firm rules, policies and procedures.

  • Further, performance expectations include, but are not limited to: establishing a strong compliance tone/environment, positive branch exam results, team cohesiveness with the principal(s) responsible for day to day supervision, etc.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • FINRA Series 7, 24, 53, and 66 (or 63 & 65) registrations

  • State Life and Health insurance licenses

  • 7 years of experience as a Financial Advisor

  • 5 years of experience in Sales Management

  • 10 years financial services/insurance industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • CLU, ChFC and/or CFP a big plus

  • Proven track record in hiring, developing and retaining financial professionals

  • Demonstrated success in leadership roles

  • Ability to make sound business and strategic decisions in partnership and conjunction with other leadership within the branch

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple locations across a large geographic area

  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and building diverse teams

  • Exceptional managerial skills, ability to communicate/coach associates, good computer and organizational skills

  • Excellent communications skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels

  • Comprehensive knowledge of life, annuity and investment products, market planning and financial planning

  • A compliance record with no substantial disciplinary action or sales practice deficiencies
